Allison Ratcliffe - Manx Cake Maker

Allison became a cake maker quite by accident and still considers herself to be a paid hobbyist.  Her love of baking was encouraged from an early age by her grandmother and she was soon making cakes for friends and family.  Her early career was in specialist nursing, but then she married a Manxman, moved to the Island and the rest, as they say, is history!

Allison insists that the cakes she bakes must taste as good as they look and she uses Manx produce wherever possible, including local free range eggs, butter, buttermilk, cream, flour and preserves.  The result is a range of cakes to tempt the eye – and delight the palate.

Her style ranges from traditional to contemporary, classic to humourous.  Many of her wedding cakes have been featured in "Wedding Cakes - A Design Source" and "Contemporary Cakes" magazines.

A wide selection of Allison's cakes can be found on her website below or on her Facebook page Allison Ratcliffe - manxcakemaker. Alternatively you can contact the MostlyManx shop in Douglas for more information.
