Gail Curphey - Curphey Bears

Gail moved to the Island in 2003 and lives in Ballaugh Glen. Always having had a “crafty” side and a love of teddy bears, Gail’s first bear was made from a kit purchased as a gift from her husband Peter and that's when it all began!

The highest quality materials include; Helmbold mohair, glass eyes, traditional cottier pin joints, hand embroidered nose and paws, and all left ears are tagged with the ‘Curphey Bears’ button.

Bears can come in all shapes and sizes, and extensive work goes into each one, taking up to 8 hours to make. You can’t hurry a bear!

Gail is happy to discuss individual commissions or introduce you to those bears currently awaiting adoption! Gail can be contacted directly on (07624) 480038 or alternatively by email,

Genuinely Manx, all bears are born in the barn in Ballaugh!
