Jade Boylan - Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Jade Boylan is a twenty-something freelance Illustrator, artist, graphic designer, book addict, writer, vintage lover, total geek and full time daydreamer!

Jade's passion for illustration and crafts began when she was very young; after winning art competitions while she was at the Buchan school she knew that she wanted to be an artist when she grew up. After attending King William’s College she enrolled at UCM (then the Isle of Man College) to study for an NDAD and a HND in Fine Art.

She graduated with a BA degree in Fine Art from UCM (in association with LJMU) in 2013 and since then has been working freelance as an illustrator and graphic designer as well as building and expanding her brand the ‘Candy Doll Club’. Her illustrations and pin designs have collectively gained her over 35,000 followers online and having lived on the island her entire life, Jade now runs a successful online business from her home in Ballaglass, selling Girl Gang and 90’s themed pins, patches and other fun items. Her bright and colourful designs can be found pinned to the jackets and bags of people all over the world and she regularly ships her products to every continent except Antarctica (if she could just break into the Penguin market she’d be all set).

When she’s not dropping bags of orders off at her local post office, Jade can often be found painting one of her ‘Candy Dolls’, an ongoing series of pieces inspired by contemporary fashion, pop culture and femininity. And if she’s not painting she’s probably working freelance, creating bespoke designs for local and international clients.
