Fine, handcrafted textiles are Margaret’s passion. Her award-winning work reflects the interests and experiences gained while living in Singapore, Germany, America and the UK and her work is known around the world.
Since moving to the Island in 2000, Margaret has enjoyed working on original designs based on the natural world and landscapes. Many times she will begin with an idea and then let the thread and fabric lead her to the final composition. She often combines appliqué and embroidery over a painted background, and uses a subtle blend of silver and gold threads for additional impact.
Much of her recent work has been focused on quilts and individually designed ‘art’ jackets and waistcoats for men and women, but she still makes time to produce original ‘fun’ items like teddy bears, cushion covers and wall hangings.
