Nigel Thompson - Cabinet Maker

Cabinet maker, Nigel, is an 'adopted' Manxman, born in Lincolnshire but resident in the Isle of Man since 2001.  He first started working with wood while he was at school and then progressed to studying creative design at Loughborough College, specialising in cabinet work and jewellery making.  He now combines skilled traditional techniques with creative flair to produce distinctive woodcraft items under the banner of 'Manxbox'.

Since opening his workshop at the Laxey Woollen Mills craft complex, Nigel has created many unique and innovative furniture designs such as dressers and tables, as well as a beautiful range of smaller items such as exquisite music boxes and clocks.  His range of projects and designs include bespoke kitchens, furniture, corporate gifts, home and shop signs.
