Sue King - Writer-Artist
|
|
She lives just a stone’s throw from the Laxey Woollen Mills and has spent the last two years happily immersed in researching and writing a new book about the fascinating history of this grand old building - ‘A Weaver’s Tale – The Life and Times of the Laxey Woollen Industry 1860-2010’*. Sue is also proud to have played a leading editorial role in ‘A Taste of the Isle of Man’, the best-selling modern cookbook produced to raise funds for Laxey School. She has a keen interest in both food and history and hopes to combine the two in her next writing project! Alongside writing Sue is now pursuing her love of painting and creative art and finds particular inspiration from the sea and the sky. She works mainly in acrylic or watercolour but also enjoys making use of natural elements gathered from the nearby woods and shoreline. She spent many years living in New Zealand and was greatly inspired by the Kiwi willingness to experiment with mixed media.
