Emma Cadamy - Jewellery Designer

Emma's keynote pieces of jewellery are based on vivid colour and thought-provoking shapes.

The inspiration for her 'virus' range is derived from her interest in unseen objects which can only be observed through a microscope or telescope.  She says that even though we accept the existence of minute, life-threatening viral bodies and monstrous star matter, they are essentially intangible and disconnected from us, so can be perceived as things of beauty.

Her funky 'robot' range was inspired by Japanese street fashion, which favours fun over function.  The result is cartoon-like and surreal, verging on costume or disguise with bold and uplifting palettes.

All of Emma's jewellery is hand-crafted in silver and filled with colourful polyester resin.  She says colour is very important to her as it's a source of fun, light and zesty feelings.  The silver is given a matte finish in order to set off the vibrancy of the resin.

Samples of Emma's work are on display at the MostlyManx shop in Douglas.
