Celine J Appleyard - Ceramic Artist

Since graduating from Wolverhampton University in 2004, Celine has developed a unique range of decorative and sculpural forms.  Each one of her designs is created from one or more pieces of clay, which she manipulates by folding or pleating.  Celine's inspiration comes from nature and the sensual openings of flowers and classical dresses. 

Some of her works are enhanced with light, allowing the translucency of porcelain and satin vibrant glazes to accentuate the sensuality of the forms and intensify the rhythms and openings within the folds. 

Although Celine is an Island resident, she has participated in Ceramic Fairs across England and Wales, showcasing and selling alongside international artists.  Her passion for the art is further expressed through workshops and ceramic parties that can be arranged by appointment.  She also welcomes requests for commissions.
