Sandra Mepham - Felting and Needlework
|
|
Sandra has produced a Manx themed range of felt brooches, which include the three legs symbol, Manx cats, Loaghtan sheep and various Christmas decorations. All her brooches are hand stitched and hand embroidered from start to finish, making them unique, highly wearable pieces of art. Felt is a verstatile material and one of the oldest forms of fabric known to man. Traditional felt is made from wool, but new technology can now produce felt made from recycled plastic bottles. Sandra uses both forms of felt to make her brooches, as well as pincushions and sock monkeys. She is always finding inspiration for new ideas in unusual places and often resorts to scribbling her ideas down on any scrap of paper to hand! A variety of Sandra's finished work can be viewed and purchased at MostlyManx and she also accepts commissions for individual pieces.
